Sun Microsystems Buys Mysql AB!
Jonathan Schwartz’ (Chief Executive Officer and President of Sun Microsystems) announced yesterday from his blog that Sun has acquired Mysql AB, the company behind the widest used open sourced database platform, Mysql.
It was reported that the open source database was bought for approximately $1 billion. A price suitable for Mysql.
Imagine all the Mysql users out there! Imagine your WordPress blog running Mysql. Imagine all those Web hosting company using Mysql… Imagine the power of Sun Microsystems now backing up the most powerful open source database!
