Heart of Inner Child – Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router

Remember my post about how to block yutube traffic? Yep, that’s the one. I mentioned there that we’ll have a separate post about the device itself? (More on that device soon…) and so, here it is….

The Device

For sharing the super fast Smart Bro internet connection, Inner Child is using a Linksys WRT54GS Wireless-G Broadband Router with speedboster.

This is one fantastic device. It is really3 devices in one box. All of which are being utilized (so we get our money’s worth)… More on that device soon…

Wireless Access Point

It is a Wireless Access Point. My brother is the one benefiting on this feature. He doesn’t have to connect his laptop on the network. He just simply enable his wifi and he’s good to go.

Full Duplex Switch

It has a 4-port full duplex 10/100 Switch. This is to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. In our case, we’re only utilizing 2 ports. One is connected on a switch (where all the workstations on Innerchild LAN shop are connected) and the other one is on my mom’s personal desktop.

Router

And lastly, Router function makes all the feature bind together. It lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection… or you know the old stuff – Smart Bro.

Now, I heard about this HDMI splitters or switches but not sure if the functionalities are the same. What do you think?

   If your brother has an access to it via WiFi, does it also mean that anyone else with a laptop can freely ride on your connection?
