Trick and Deceive Your Blog Readers

Ang sama ng title… Blog visitors hate affiliated links. At least personally in my case, as a blog hopper, that is the truth.

The Argument

Do you consciously click the link knowing that you’re being referred to (and hoping that you’ll join?) Me, No. (sorry)

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I usually check the link first (by hovering my mouse over the link) before clicking. If I feel a little ‘evil’, I would by-pass the link and go the page directly.

Example

Which one of my Text Link Ads would you more likely to click,

This one?

https://tinyurl.com/2tyvnw

Or this one?

https://www.everything-eli.com/inmylife/moreinfo/text-links-ads.php

Even if we say that the first link is using the tinyURL equivalent of the affiliate code/URL, the one with your own domain is more likely to be clicked that. It’s somewhat more personal to your readers.

Bottom line is, both URLs are the same and will lead your reader to one same place (with your referral code in tact).

How Does It Work?

Redirection baby!

You can use a simple PHP redirection script to redirect your user from one page to another. Read here for more information.

Once you’ve created a script, create a sub directory under your domain and save all your script there. For example, in everything-eli.com/inmylife domain, I created the ‘moreinfo’ subdirectory and put all php scripts. Complete URL would be:

https://www.everything-eli.com/inmylife/moreinfo/

Now, is that more ‘everything-eli’ than say:

https://www.is1.clixgalore.com/cgd.aspx?BID=64378&AfID=142203&AdID=7787
https://tinyurl.com/2tyvnw

Right?

   eh pano naman ang redirection ng IP address to another country? sa office, canadian IP address kami pero as if namang everyday eh andun ako…bad trip kasi…dahil sa geographical location, konti lang Opps na qualified ako (tapos PR 0 pa ko..pakshet!)

   Hi Thet, na try ko na rin kasi yung proxies… nkikita rin ng PPP.. hehehe, question ko na dati yan dahil sa regional diba? … ayaw eh..
