I love movies. I’m sure you do too. Parang isa na to sa favorite pastime ng mga pinoys. When I was a little younger, I love comedy and romantic comedy movies, dahil siguro medyo childish, batang isip ek ek pa.. nakaka relate sa romantic comedy. Pero up to now, I still love date movies. I just noticed that lately I’m loving action slash thriller movies. It started when I finished watching all 6 seasons of 24! (The best kasi). After that I got hooked.
Besides action, I also love yung mga may twist movies… Yung di mo ine-expect na ganon pala ending. Na mahihilo ka sa kakasunod ng story.. hehehe.. For me, most of the time these movies involves traveling through time or something similar.
Enumerate ko lang favorite ‘time, space continium’ something movie ko… on top of my head…..
I just finished watching Deja Vu, a movie starring Denzel Washington and Paula Patton. With this movie completes the 5 items on my favorite Time/Space movies.
Deja Vu – An ATF agent travels back in time to save a woman from being murdered, falling in love with her during the process. You may think that pretty much gave away all the excitement of the movie, you’re wrong. That’s just part of it.
Doug Carlin is trying to catch the terrorist responsible for the bombing of the ferry boat filled with more that 500 people. With the help of an advance technology, they were able to see the past and saw what people did 4 days back.
Imagine seeing someone dead doing things 4 days ago and able to go to their houses and in scene of the crime.
When he goes back in time, the actions he did complements the things he saw in the viewing room. Because he went back, they were able to apprehend the bomber and and Dough managed to do something else…
Premonition – This one stars Sandra Bullock (Linda Hason). Depressed housewife learns her husband was killed in a car accident the day previously, awakens the next morning to find him alive and well at home, and then awakens the next day after to a world in which he is still dead. And then, we wakes again and… you guessed it, her husband is still alive. Nice movie. I watched it twice just to appreciate more the plot and story line.
Next – Chris Johnson (‘Frank Cadillac’) is played by Nicholas Cage. He is a Las Vegas magician who can see into the future. He was being pursued by FBI agents seeking to use his abilities to prevent a nuclear terrorist attack.
Another good movie. Frank Cadillac can actually only 2 minutes of his life future. Then he met this lovely girl. He can’t explain it but being with here augments his power and he can see more than a glimpse of the future. The FBI doesn’t knows this as well as the bad guys.
The Lake House – A lonely doctor (Bullock) who once occupied an unusual lakeside home begins exchanging love letters with its former resident, a frustrated architect (Reeves). They must try to unravel the mystery behind their extraordinary romance before it’s too late Tagline How do you hold on to someone you’ve never met?
Frequency – Frequency is a movie shown in 2000 starring Dennis Quaid (Frank Sullivan) and James Caviezel (John Sullivan). I love this movie! You know, being themed father and son and all…
It’s a story of father and son who are able to communicate using a low frequency radio with the help of nature’s wonder – the Aurora Borealis thing. :) After a few meetings, John and Frank were finally convinced that they are talking to each other in a time difference of 30 years! It was touching! First, in John’s present, his dad is dead. And in Frank’s, his son i just a little boy.
An accidental cross-time radio link connects father and son across 30 years. The son tries to save his father’s life, but then must fix the consequences.
And finally
Back To The Future Trilogy In 1985, Doc Brown invented time travel, in 1955, Marty McFly accidentally prevented his parents from meeting, putting his own existence at stake.
I forgot the story of this movie… But I do remember that i love it so much. And I know that each movie on this trilogy is interconnected.
Anyone remembers the story? Help me recall.. :)
And there you have it.. some of my favorite movies…. What’s yours?
