Tips To Get Traffic on Your Blog

boost internet trafficFew years back, there’s this TV show on a local channel (sorry forgot the channel, but it’s in UHF) called Call For Help and The Screensavers back when G4techTV was still TechTV (also formerly known as ZDTV). The shows stars Leo Laporte.

Now, Leo’s latest tech show is called Lab With Leo Laporte. Saw this video from John Chow’s blog where he (John) guested on Leo’s show. This was his third time on the show and he shares some tips on how to get traffic on your blog.

Here are some tips I took from their conversation:

  • First things first… You got to have content… And not just ‘hello world’ content. Try to make ones that will make visitors come back.
  • Be a Guest blogger to a more well-known blog. That way, you can put you’re link at the bottom of the post and the reader can (hopefully) pass through your blog. Now, how to make the famous blogger say ‘yes’, that’s your problem. :)
  • Create a news list of blogs with the same niche as yours. If you have new post with interesting content, you can broadcast the story to the list. They (hopefully) will take notice and link back to your blog.
  • If you have a little money to spend why not run contests. In order to win, readers just have to reply to the post or make short post about the contest. This is what problogger do. Check out Yugatech’s previous contests. (I sometimes join, but never won.) :D
  • You could also try buying reviews from other (more well-known) blogs through Review ME and the likes.

There. Nice stuffs eh? This is for those who doesn’t know about it yet. If you do know about these, well you just wasted your time reading it. :)

    It’s in Net25, kapitbahay. Used to watch those shows din. Learned a lot hehe… Pati terms na di ko alam dyan ko lang nalaman. Net25, that’s INC channel, has some really cool tech shows until now. Convergence is one of those.

    wee! I’m a TechTV fan. Nung nsa cable pa yan, I always watch Call For Help and The Screensavers. Patrick Norton and Kevin Rose (Digg) were among the best host of The Screensavers show. Pero nung naging G4techTV na sia, pumangit at nawala n sa cable nmin.
