Pretty long title but it is true… “Wolfgang’s Vault Releases John Lennon Concert Recordings from Madison Square Garden 1972 for Free Streaming” Read the rest of this entry »
2008 continues to be a very busy year for Ringo Starr, fresh off launching his new CD Liverpool 8, he announced today that he will be touring the US and Canada this summer. The 10th All Starr-studded ensemble will include returning All Starrs (in alphabetical order): Colin Hay, Billy Squier, Hamish Stuart, Edgar Winter, and first timer Gary Wright and on drums, Gregg Bissonette.
One of the first songs I’ve knows with super long title… just like “Said I love you but I lied” or “Have I told you lately That I love you” or “I would do anything for love, But I wont Do That” or… you got what I mean.
You’ve Got To Hide Your Love Away is one of my favorite song on the Beatles Help album. It has some flavors in it that for me really puts it on the top of my best song of the Beatles list. John Lennon takes the vocal part and a 12 string acoustic guiter.
This song is the first ever Beatle recording to feature the work of an outside musician. If your familiar with the song, the end part of which has some flute part. That part was performed by Johnnie Scott. (I’m not sure if he’s the one on the music video below, but you do, please comment) :D
Another fact every Beatles fan should know, or probably know is that there was no electrical instruments in that song and it was recorded in a shortened afternoon session from start to finish. And have you notice the teak outdoor furniture that was in the Help! music video? Well not actually teak, but they’re nice.
That’s it… I just want to share that one to you guys who are a Beatles fan.. :)
Here is that song’s video from yutube. This is from the the beatles second movie, in colour, Help!.
From a Beatle who rocked the world to an idealist who shook America.
Last December 26, 2007 while visiting my in-laws in Sta. Rosa Laguna, I bought my latest addition to my Beatles collections - a VCD about John Lennon titled “The U.S. vs. John Lennon“.
The U.S. versus John Lennon is the story of one superstar’s dream of a better world and his fight to be heard. The film features a large and diverse array of the era’s notable figures, men and women who bear immediate and authoritative witness to specific events.
F@c#$@!! Mark David Chapman!! (i wonder if Google can search that word… :)
The photograph on the left was taken December 8, 1980, the day that John Lennon was murdered. That dude in the picture, the one who’s asking for John’s autograph is Mark David Chapman, John’s Killer.
As John Lennon was leaving The Dakota Building early on the day of December 8th, he was approached by what he thought was a fan. Mark had asked him, “John, will you sign this?” and John said “Sure, no problem”. And he signed it with Mark’s pen. After he had signed it, He asked Mark “Is that all you want?” and then He asked it again, “Is that all you want?” and Mark replied with a yes, “Yes, thank you John.”
Then John went to his car and drove away. That very same night, Mark was waiting for him and was prepared to kill him.
