Manila Peninsula Takeover… I Was There! Sort Of

November 30th, 2007 by Elizar

manila peninsula takeoverDidn’t know what I was thinking not blogging about this yesterday while all the juicy news is just down stairs and from where I was standing then, overlooking all the happenings!

It’s a working day yesterday, so whole day I was sitting around getting fat in my desk. A super tea light candles SMS asking, “What’s happening in there? Sen. Trillianes and Gen. Lim is yet again making a scene“.

Great! Another kulang sa pansin (KSP) activity of Sen. Trillianes!

Apparently, both of them and the rest of the Magdalo soldiers walked out during their court hearing in Makati Regional Trial Court and marched along Makati Avenue all the way to the Manila Peninsula (Manila Pen).

I started thinking that this was a serious issue when the mother company sent an update email about the events and advising their employees to take extra care and avoid the area whenever possible (which before dark yesterday, Ayala Avenue was closed to all motorists).

Felt worried more when the building administrator sent an email that they will be forming some barricades in front/entrance of PhilamLife Tower (our building) just to be safe.

Then as night come a close (Trillianes/Lim were already apprehended after the authorities took action) I yet again received a message that the government just ordered a curfew from 12:00am to 5:00am November 30. I thought, “There’s really somethings going on”.

Went home around 9:00pm (before the curfew). There really is no traffic in Ayala Ave eerrr no motorists…

Checked the news this morning, and except for no night life for a payday night, there are no bad news reported…

Thank God for that…
