Eli’s A day in A life… (Pag night shift)

February 5th, 2007 by Elizar

Anong oras un? it’s from 7pm to 7am.. 12hrs! Opo, ganon katagal. Buti nalang 3 days or 4 days a week lang un pasok…

Anyway, weekend ang night shift sched namin.. that’s either from thursday to sunday or friday to sunday…

That’s the time breakdown ng isang oras na preparasyon.

Dapat between 5:00pm to 5:15pm nasa bus nko.. 5:30 to 5:45pm dapat Bocaue Tollgate nako.. Tapos, another 30 minutes dapat nasa Camachile nako, near Balintawak QC.

6:00pm to 6:30pm, I should be inside the MRT on my way to Ayala station, para makarating ako ng office by or before 7:00pm!!

Usually pagdating sa office, turn over, then check ng work email, alerts, IPR then check ng yahoo mail, gmail, friendster .. and everything-eli.com… un na! hehehe.. 12midnight lunch nmin, so break muna.. balik ulit sa project.. Blog.. :)

ganon.. 7am namin uwi.. at darating ako mga 9am sa bahay.. kain ng ‘dinner’ sandali, then chikahan kay Lois (my cute na cute na wife), kikipag laro kay matthew kung gising pa sya… tapos around 10am, natutulog nako till 3:30pm.. tapos ulit ulit.. paikot ikot ikot ikot ikot….

Updates… Song of Susannah, Krueger, Sand paper, Coco Plans

January 25th, 2007 by Elizar

Updates, updates…. Today is updates day… 4 days off kasi.. super bakasyon

Update today.. as of 12:42pm after lunch.. kakatapos ko lang maglunch and i want to put everything i can remember here.. since mamaya makakalimutan ko na to… And maya maya, I’ll be driving to Malolos.. Mom requested me to take her there. Why? Derma stuffs…

Anyway, today I got Matthew his educational plan from Cocoplans. Aling Cora dropped by here (as she promised last week) to give me the education plan… Naistobo nya nga ako eh.. I was sandpapering the computer tables in the shop… I got the annual plan for 5 years.. with P37,000 per year.. Will paste the plan she gave me.

Update on the computer shop.. well those people doing the wood work just got finished yesterday, according to Nel who called while we were in SM Marilao. And speaking of SM, here’s what we did… The main reason for me, was to buy myself a power supply for my computer and a silicon casing for my iPod (but bought a plastic case instead). Those two items are related in a way… I wanted to sync my mp3s (from my computer) to my ipod… The thing is, my computer is not starting up.. there was no power in the HDD and the CDROM. (Bought Paint, thinner and masilya for the computer table)

Replaced the power supply (which cost P700 btw) and booted the pc up.. I should have notice this during my previous troubleshooting - took off the data cable (hdd/cdrom) para power lang nakakabit, when i turned on the pc, may power… syempre di nadetect.. I then took the ribbon cable of my bro’s pc.. un, nag power!

But the other problem is still there.. nag rerestart sya after mag login… Tried removing other programs, since booting in safe mode is ok. Some program could not be removed.. I have no registry clearner… so i decided to reinstall windows anyway. After installation, ok na! Time to reinstall programs.. Photoshop, Sony Ericson CD, MS Active Sync, iTunes, Office and other utilities…

Last night, while doing the reinstallation of Windows XP.. i finished the “The Dark Tower 6: Song of Susannah” — the story concludes in the Dixie Pig… where sussanah/Mia is suppose to take birth and was taken to the door. Will read the end part again and edit this one.. :D

I will start reading Book 7 soon! Maybe tonight! :)

Last two days, we watched Freddy Krueger - Nightmare on Elm Street - that’s one of my favorite horror movie… well, its the sequel (part 2) but ok na rin un… Maybe tonight we’ll watch the 2nd part. (scared)

Driver’s License Renewal

January 17th, 2007 by Elizar

Forgot to mention yesterday that after our checkup, we went straight to the Land Transporation Office, Sta. Maria extension branch for my driver’s license.

Remember last Monday’s post?

For the record, here’s what you suppose to do during the licence renewal (plus the expense):
- Drug Test - They will get a urine sample from you. Costs P250
- Medical - They will suppose to make series of test e.g. eye test, weight, dental etc.. but for my case they just asked for P70 hehehe
- LTO/OR P280

The card said will be released Friday, Jan 19.. or early next week.

January 13th, 2007 by Elizar

January 11, 2007 (need to post the date, darn… just found out that the ’save’ function of Wordpress is not the same as ‘draft’ for Bblog) There is a separate Draft option in the ‘Post Status field)

Anyway, just want to note that we did the computer assembling today - all 12 of ‘em. We finished late at night.. we even found out about this movie for gay people while doing the activity.. hehe

We ate palabok and pork bbq and halo halo.. we even saw Jordan Hererra.

Gilmore

January 10th, 2007 by Elizar

January  10, 2007 - Kung mapapansin nyo, pabaliktad na ung post.. kasi naman , kala ko pag nag ’save’ ako ng draft blog, ma reretain ung date when I created that particular post, un pala maling setting ung nagamit ko… so here it is.. posted today, jan 13 which happened jan 10.

Original plan was to go to HMR first (in Mandaluyong) to look for some second hand monitors (since we only have 8 Samsung LCD monitors at home). Then after that, if nothing is available, Greenhills is next, in E-Square then on to Gilmore for the rest of the parts.

Di kami natuloy sa HMR, we went straight sa E-Square and inquire for the monitors. So we decided to go to HRM, after we buy all other parts sa Gilmore. (Pero di din kmi natuloy dun, why? read on).

In Gilmore, inquire kmi ng ibat ibang price sa tabi-tabing stalls. Dami nila! I remember when I was in college (not so long ago un)… back then, the only computer store there was PC Options. Ngayon, wow! grabe, super dami… They even a Mall for IT/Computer and all…

Alright, anyway, we bought most of the stuff sa PC Express (headsets, webcam, video cards, casing, cables, rj45s, mouse and keyboards) and we bought the motherboards sa PC Options… In which I have a very nice story to tell… para lang ma-document.

Since the processor that my brother got from his (now defunct) company are all AMD Athlon 64, we need to have a motherboard with a Socket 939 (s939) - Apparently, that model is being phased out.. wawa naman kmi.. The board was either not available or super mahal ng price.

It took us all day (well 12-8pm) to buy all those things… The last couple of hours are with those Mobo. When my brother finally found a store that has that model and in a much cheaper price, and not to mentioned that they have a stock of 8! Lucky us! We thought that that was it! But to the last minute, sabi nung sales lady, sorry daw, kasi isa lang makukuha namin, kasi wala na stock.. ?! huuwaaatt? what’s that?! Malabo pa sa tubig ng ilog Pasig! Dapat nga ibenta nila un, kasi un ang business nila.. and to think the mobo is obselete in a couple of months.. Ewan!

So I said, can we at least have 2? For myself and my bro? Pumayag naman sya in separate receite. Then we found another model (the first was 6100, this time its 6150), we took another 2. So we have 4.. we are short of 4 mobo. The funny this was, PC Option has two stores. What we did was, we went to the other door! Tapos bumili ulit kmi ng same model ng boards! hehe.. nahuli lang kmi ng sales lady… tumawag sya sa kabila and asked us if we were there awhile ago?.. di naman ako makapag sinungaling, kaya ayun! Bistado! hahaha! So we decided the other model for s939 (meron pala! :hehe:)

Nakaalis kami ng Gilmore around 8pm na siguro… Wala pa rin kaming HSF! Shet! San kya kmi makakahanap nun… Pumunta pa kmi sa apartment ng bro ko.. to get the rest of the stuff.. More LCD monitors (laking gulat pa nga nya, kami may nakatago pa palang isa.. so instead ng 4 CRT monitors to buy, 3 nalang kasi 9 n ung LCD).

The Problem in Commuting

January 7th, 2007 by Elizar

Traffic sa Ayala.. Errr.. Traffic ang Tao sa Ayala

Traffic naman talaga ang main problem when commuting… This time, not only the cars and the buses and other vehicles, but also the people! God!

Etong nangyari last January 5 sa Ayala station ng MRT.. (of course, this happens everyday most probably)… Sayang.
