Trivia time boys and girls!
With the start of Smallville’s 7th season - Just watched episode 2 entitled “Kara” by the way - Let’s sit and talk about the Superman logo for a moment.
Have you ever wonder where that classic Superman logo came from? Or what’s the idea behind the design and the colors?
Background
Of course, everyone knows that the original Superman character was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster on the 1930s. The funny thing was “Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster first created a bald telepathic villain bent on dominating the entire world” with the story title “The Reign of the Superman”. They later reformat the character which now better knows as The Superman.,
The Logo

The Superman logo is one of the most recognizable sign or logo ever created. And with the amazing design, comes with an amazing story behind it. First the super letter “S”. At first though, you may think that the ‘S’ logo came from the creators’ surname - Siegel and Shuster - (and that is possible almost the perfect reason perhaps) but they wanted to use the first letter of the character’s name, and since it was Superman, hence the ‘S’. It also stands for “Saving Lives, Stopping Crime and giving Super-Aid wherever it’s needed.”
The Design
The ‘S’ is inscribed in a yellow shield with red bordered. The design was taken from a Square and Compass symbol of a Master Mason; of Freemasonr.

The Square and Compass has come to represent diagram of the world, caught between the mind or spiritual world (The Compass) and the realm of the physical, the earthly plane (The Square).
Deep. Did you get that? Ang lalim.. :)

In celebration of John Lennon’s 67th birthday (October 9, 1940), I would like to dedicated this post to him. I hope that this will help clear up the notions once and for all that John Lennon really is NOT an anti-Christ that many people (specially the not-so fan) think he is. He is just a man who have had a difficult childhood that may have contributed on the John Lennon that the public eyes saw (and heard).

Cool camcorder! I just won my fourth bidding on Ebay for this Canon DC22
!
We went to a mall today. Lois and I were suppose to buy a digital video but unfortunately, we went home empty handed. (But my mom bought her new cellphone with built-in TV reception!)
I wanted to have one. (not so bad, but bad enough to logged in to ebay to get)
A quick Google says that this camcorder was released late-2006 at a market price of $699 and falls between the high-end Canon DC40
and the entry-level Canon DC100
. (Won the bidding at $280 by the way.)
Have no time to check out all the gory details (wife wants me in bed in 5 minutes or else)… So I’m just mention the stuff that made it cool.
- It uses 3″DVD! Cool! (ang babaw ko no?!)
- 10x Optical zoom
- 2.2 Megapixel CCD Image Sensor with RGB Primary Color Filter
- Widescreen HR (high resolution) recording
- large 2.7-inch Widescreen LCD
- can read all DVD-R/-RW DVD discs
- can store up to 60 minutes of video
- compatible with many home DVD players
Besides from all those features, it was also tagged as the “world’s smallest and lightest DVD camcorders”. Not sure if that still holds true today, but it was during its release. Also with Verbatim’s innovative VideoGard protection also helps the cause and ensures storage of quality videos for many years to come.
You can Google the rest of the specs if you’re curious still. That’s enough for me though.
Have a great night! Night folks!

What does Mel Gibson, Robbin Williams, Sylvester Stallone and Leonardo de Carpio have in common besides good looking dudes like me? :-) They all have movies shot in Thailand! Bangkok to be precise!
Bangkok, also known as Krung Thep Maha Nakhon, is the largest city in Thailand and with that, it is the 22nd most populated city in the world! That big population is probably made of up city locals and tourists.
In Asia, Bangkok is one of the most popular tourist destination (Manila too of course). Proof of this is the fully booked Bangkok Hotels, most of them tourists.
If I would go there (I would be the tourist) the first thing that I would check out are the temples. I would go where they house the Emerald Buddha. Not sure if it’s in Chakri Mahaprasat Hall or Wat Phra Kaew but it’s definitely known as the most important temple in Thailand.
Grand Palace. Of course, I would go there too! The Malacañang of Thailand. It is also one of the destination for tourist.
Ah, the joy traveling… In the internet.

I have a post way back January 1 of 2007, where I was supposed to enumerate the step on how to assemble a pool table, but checking the post out, apparently I got lazy and didn’t finish the post. Shame on me.
My brother-in-law bought one last year as a way of enjoying simple pleasure of the game. And I thought it’s also a way to spend more valuable time with his boy - Clark Kent and his cool and colorful flip flops. He hope that his son will also enjoy the game as much as he do. (Just like I hope my boy - Matthew - will enjoy playing the guitar or drums as much as I do. :-)
Anyway, we have either France or England or Persia (now Iran) to thank for, for possibly inventing the game. Now, who amongst these countries are the ‘real’ inventor, is still subject for debate but the first record of a pool tables dates back to 1470, when King Louis XO of France possessed one. So it could have been France.
Enough with the history. Better ask Bata Reyes for all the information you may want about pool or Billiards. :-)

Inc. Paradise is an online filing service if you want to start your corporate business.
They have a page that explains the different business structure. That is, the difference between an S Corporation, a C Corporation and an LLC (Limited Liability Corporation).
I’ve been with my current employer for almost a year now. Their business name has an LLC in it. I always wonder what those three big letters are but never had a chance to google it.
Well now I know, thanks to the website:
When To Use a Limited Liability Company - LLC
a. When you have any partnership.
b. When you own real estate for investment purposes.
c. When you have several entities that own the business.
d. When you are looking for complete protection of the owners’ personal liability.
Like I said, the website offers online filing service to start corporation or an incorporation in all 50 states. That means they have coverage from Alabama Inc to Wyoming inc. They only charge $89 + state fees for doing all necessary paperwork.
There is also an affiliate program offered for those who want to work with Inc. Paradise. This way they too can earn by making commission on incorporation services.
So wherever you are, there is always and Inc. Paradise near you!

It’s all about the teens today huh? We’re going to talk about yet another site that aims to help the young adults.
Earlier we talked about an organization that helps troubled teens before they can even make some problem to the society.
Like I said there are many groups who are very kind to start programs or company with the sole objective is to help those ‘brats’, those mini menace to society, those trouble teenager.
Another groups that help them are boot camps.
Parents should be really meticulous in Choosing A Boot Camp. They should do their research to find out which one is the best and which one is appropriate for their child.
Boot camps are short term programs that help to awaken the child to their wrong doings, help them be responsible enough so he can be brought back to the society. But for troubled teens who are more serious, who are struggling with behavior, emotions and academics will require a longer stay at a behavior modification program or Specialty Boarding School
One example that they could consider is the Boot-Camp for Troubled Teenagers. They started out as an alternative to jail for the adolescent. And just like any other groups for the trouble teens their aim also is to help parents communicate with their son/daugthers. The website direct parents that are looking for parent resources available for a struggling child.
