What is Holding ME Back From Blogging?

September 4th, 2007 by Elizar

john chow What is Holding You Back From Blogging? That’s the question that Gary Jones is asking everyone on Mr. John Chow’s blog. I even did the ‘I will post in my blog daily for 20 days straight’ commitment. But instead of writing it down, I put it in my computer desktop and my phone’s Today screen wallpaper.

The very first time I blog (didn’t even know it was called blogging then, and no idea about Wordpress!), just like most of us, was to record the stuff that happens to our life. Main thing that influence me to blog is the stuff that happens in my life - my family, my friends, work etc.. heck, even the billboard commercial I saw on the street while commuting, I wrote about it.

Anyway, I sometimes post 2 to 4 entries a day. So what’s holding me back? Or should I say, what’s the reason that will cause me to stop blogging?

Anything You Want Posters!

August 16th, 2007 by Elizar

Website sharing time!

I found this website while looking for some really cool rock band poster for my future InnerChild Band Rehearsal Studio. Instead of giving me links or pictures/posters of local Pinoy bands (which is very super hard to find by the way), this site allows me to create my own customized poster!

How does it work? Here’s how…

I’m A Walking Penguin!

August 14th, 2007 by Elizar

I am so loving this PortableApp! I can’t believe I’m bringing all my apps with me!

Whether I’m at home or at the office, or even in some internet cafe in some mall, I can read my subscribed RSS feed (I use thunderbird btw), use firefox and use GIMP if ever I need to edit a picture to be placed on a blog. I tell you, not all PC I use have Photoshop in it. Portable Gimp really comes in handy.

Haven’t really explored everything else yet or installed every application (cause there’s a lot!). I did try, as I mentioned, Thunderbird, Firefox, and Gimp. There’s also Nvu (an web page editor, much like Dreamweaver or Frontpage) and a plan to install the compact version of Apache, Mysql, PHP collectively as XAMP.

Having all these apps, I feel like there’s a mobile server on my pocket.

GPRS Configuration for Pocket PC

August 7th, 2007 by Elizar

I love my XDA II very much. I love it so much, I have no plans of buying a new PDA/Phone in the near future (dahil wala akong pambili). :-)

Bought this phone from Vic Del Rosario (nope, not the big boss of Viva, but a big boss in GMA 7) 2 or 3 years ago. My first fascination with Microsoft powered phone goes back to my NEC Components day, when people from Smart Philippines offered us a promotional plan with a free SmartPhone (tanager) for Plan 500. Since then, 6 years later, I still carry the plan and have replace the unit 3 times.

Goodby iPhone, Hello GPhone!

August 4th, 2007 by Elizar

Though GPhone is not the official name, but rumors are flying everywhere on the internet that Google could be getting into the cellphone biz.According to Wall Street Journal, that big search company that has made billions of dollars in Web advertising, will extend all it’s services in a mobile phone. Google is talking to all wireless operators, cellphone manufacturers (report say it could be LG Electronics in South Korea) and software developers in bringing this vision into a reality.

There is already a prototype of this Google phone and those who had seen it says it’s not comparable to the iPhone but it is more like a sliding keyboard Nokia phone.

This is going to be one super phone! Why you say? Coz it’s free!

Oh yes baby!

Google will also be giving free subscriptions to consumers by bundling ads with its search engine, Web browser apps and Gmail. I wonder if Smart and Globe will agree.

All System Administrators, Come Together!

July 28th, 2007 by Elizar

I just got a new domain registered at Marvin’s Web. This is my 3rd for Marvin’s Web and 4th domain in all. My first ever domain was (now defunct) Razile.com way back 2002 (?). Razile’s my name spelled backward. Mamatay man ako, I did not get the idea from Airfagev.com (it’s Master Rey Vegafria’s site for Windows Mobile phones).

Get Paid For The Things You Buy

July 27th, 2007 by Elizar

An online store that pays you for the things you buy! Imagine buying Pure Collection and getting 5% back on the money you spent? Have you ever heard of such a thing? That would be great wouldn’t it?

Here’s the good news for you, there is a shopping site where members can earn cashback to do their usual online shopping. Cash Back To You is one of the most established shopping sites in the UK since 2001. They even have Home Shopping Sale where they have tons of special offer for online shoppers! For example, they have offerings from Apple Store where they can get 1.25% cashback, or at HMV, the well known music store for music lovers, offering up to 3% cashback.

This is truly a great site for regular online shoppers!

Stupid PHP

July 23rd, 2007 by Elizar

I have several ebooks and printouts and bookmarks and other tutorial on creating dynamic web pages using Mysql and PHP. They are all on my iPod storage, some on my XDA storage and some on my PC. And that’s all they’re doing, take up space. While me, I do nothing. Read it for a while then nothing.

And where does it brought me? Nowhere but a messed up blog theme that I couldn’t even troubleshoot.
