There are some Windows Mobile posts for the past few days now. And while the into it and feeling hot, here’s follow up post on the Windows Mobile Upgrade post.

Here are some of the benefits when you upgrade your Pocket PC from Windows Mobile 5 (WM5) to WM6.

Most (if not all) of it are from O2’s official XDA Zinc WM6 ROM Upgrade page.

Benefits of upgrade includes:

• Fixes issues in receiving MMS.
• Fixes issues in opening video MMS from Nokia N70.
• Fixes incorrect indication of MSN contact presence status.
• Increases end-call notification volume for unobtainable numbers.

Specific for Philippine Users

With the mobile technology of Philippines’ leading network provider, O2 even created a special Streaming Player for Xda Zinc WM6.

This streaming player lets you receive and play back streaming media delivered over the networks in Philippines.

You may consider installing this application to your device if the above is needed.

Before installing this patch file, you should have upgraded to Xda Zinc WM6 ROM Upgrade (ENG) WWE_RM3070712.

Additional Applications

Here are some extra icons that I noticed in Windows Mobile 6. If I missed some, pardon me, I have only been using WM on this XDA Zinc for two days.

For the (Start) -> Programs:

• Windows Live!
• Remote Desktop
• Internet Sharing

Here are from the (Start) -> Settings -> System:

• Windows Update
• Error Reporting
• Encryption (mini SD Card)

Before Upgrading Make Sure:

• Your PC is running Microsoft Windows 2000 or XP or Microsoft Windows Vista with ActiveSync 4.5,
• ActiveSync 4.5 (oopss, that was mentioned above).
