Lange & Sohne

May 25th, 2008 by Elizar

My brother will be coming back home from New Yok tomorrow. We’ll be picking him up around 12 noon at the airport… (not sure if he’ll be in Ninoy Aquino International Airport or at the new terminal).

Good thing there’s no work tomorrow (one of 4 rest days). Everyone’s excited, I got myself another set of books and DVD.. as always..

Lois is also excited, who bought for herself a new Fossil lady’s wrist watch… too bad she haven’t heard about the Lange Sohne, which are so elegant looking with cool leathery design! :)

Nice eh?

Tranfer Blog To Another Webhost

May 22nd, 2008 by Elizar

This blog post will talk about the experience done in tranfering one blog to another host… and hey, the misspelled tranfer word really was done intentionally, ayt?

I have read a couple of posts just like this, where a blogger moves his blog either from one domain name to another or from one web hosting company to another… I never thought that I would be doing the same thing for one of my blog…

To keep the tradition alive.. nyahaha, here’s the things I did in transferring Pinoy Banda from Marvin’s Web (Registrar and webhost) to Godaddy (Registrar) and 000Webhost (Free hosting).

Background…

Pinoy Banda was set to expire on May 21, 2008 .. wait! That’s yesterday! hehehe… Instead of renewing the domain with my registrar, I transfer the domain name to GoDaddy.

But before that… Backup, Backup Backup

Did a little reading in transferring a Wordpress blog to another host. I think the one I read was the one in wordpress Codex.. Go read that one if you’ll be transferring one of your own blog to another webhost.

Terrazas de Punta Fuego Pictures

May 16th, 2008 by Elizar

I want to share this super late post about Terrazas de Punta Fuego pictures. We had our company summer outing last month and we really enjoyed staying here… enjoyed it even more with dudets wearing sexy swimwears.

It’s the first time I’ve ever ridden a jet ski! And it was super!

Anywho… here’s are some of it.

Sorry, if it’s taking a while to load… I have no thumbnails of the photos… Right click the image and ‘view image’ (for firefox) for larger view.

Preparation the night before was hassle free… i didn’t even stayed up late so there’s no acne for me there. Lol

Enjoy!

Stephen King Controversy

May 8th, 2008 by Elizar

I know not everyone is aware of the latest happening to (IMHO) the greatest horror/thriller writer of all time - Mr. Stephen King. Heck, even I, a big fan is not that updated with the man. There is a controversy that is being talked about in the internet about Stephen King and it’s not about sexy swimwear

Recent blog and news search shows that Stephen King is currently facing a super small, minute controversy as of this moment.

He’s comment on about the (US) military being illiterate (well, at least that’s what people are interpreting) has grown from a simple part-of-speech early last month to this big issue when a blogger said:

”Nice sentiment when the nation is at war, Stephen.”

Stephen King release a statement last Monday to defend his side of the story, saying:

“That a right-wing-blog would impugn my patriotism because I said children should learn to read, and could get better jobs by doing so, is beneath contempt,”

“I live in a National Guard town, and I support our troops, but I don’t support either the war or educational policies that limit the options of young men and women to any one career — military or otherwise,”

More info on that story here, and here or the Army’s say on the issue. Of course you can see Mr. King’s official statement in his official website.

What ever Mr. King meant, I’m sure it’s just some misunderstanding and Mr. King only wanted to urge the kids to read more. And this also reminded me of The Beatles (or John Lennon’s) statement (”..popular than Jesus Christ”) where people also misinterpret the comment qoutes quoted from Mr. Lennon

Banned In Google, Banned In Digg

May 8th, 2008 by Elizar

How to get a URL to be unbanned in Digg.

I’ve been ranting and complaining about my everything-eli being banned in Google (or at least dropped its PR to 0)… I got over it in a way.

But I got another thing to rant about. My Wrong spelling blog/URL, I think just got banned from Digg. I can no longer submit any post from that blog. Apparently, the users of Digg, buried my blog so no one will be able to submit any URL from that blog.

So, how do you get yourself unbanned from Digg?

I’m sorry, but this post is not a solution to that question. I’m actually asking for help to those whoever stumble to this blog. Any tips?

Help? You could try and submit any URL from my Wrong Spelling Blog and see if Digg will allow the submission.

When I try it, I alway get a:

This link does not appear to be a working link. Please check the URL and try again.

I was wondering if another account could submit a URL from my blog.

Anyway, I just hope Digg reconsiders… I’ll correct all my wrong spelling blog if they do. :)
