My first of four rest days is almost over… I’m here at the shop numbing my butt out (been sitting here for hours now) and writing today’s entry. (I’m waiting for my last customer to finish her chat, so I can close this place up)
Yep, I remember meron silang New Year performance dito sa Ayala/Paseo last Dec 31… On shift nga ako nun eh.. kaso morning shift, kaya di ko rin napanood,.. sayang! (Si misis kasi eh, pinauwi agad ako .. :(
Mel’s message on the tagboard, stuck in my head the whole day. She said that she commented on one of my post, but it did not get displayed…
What I did was logged in to WP admin page (still couldn’t figure it out how to disable the comment moderation), and check if the comment is still there, waiting for my approval… Nothing there.
That’s when I remember bBlog - my first blog engine. Because of thousands of spam messages I received with Bblog, I decided to use Wordpress.
I was pretty sure that Mel’s comment not displaying was caused by that - no more disk space to save the comment. Checked disk usage using cpanel, and I was right…
Freed up some space by deleting bitweaver - it’s a content management system I almost used, but no time to study it :) .
And I know that the spam comment for bBlog will keep coming in, so I decided to remove the ‘comment’ table in my bBlog db..
I’ve been reading “The Dark Tower VI: The Dark Tower” (Stephen King) for the past few days now… as Wikipedia reminds us, “tells the tale of lead character Roland Deschain’s quest for the ‘Dark Tower.’ The Dark Tower is often described in the novels as a real structure, and also as a metaphor. Part of Roland’s fictional quest lies in discovering the true nature of the Tower. The series incorporates themes from multiple genres, including fantasy fiction, science fantasy, horror, and western elements.”
I’m currently in page 350 something.. (not a fast reader, i know.. ninanamnam ko kasi each word..hehe,.. at sinisingit ko lang kung wala ko magawa).. anyway, this is the part where they are listening to the tapes that Ted Brautigan left them in the cave. Ted is also a character in another King book, “Hearts in Atlantis“… (which was also made into a film in 2001)..
That book too, was great! It’s a 3 story book, (or 4, if forgot), revolves around Bobby Garfield and the Vietnam war… and his love of his life..
That part of the book, made me want to go back and read Hearts…, When I went and check the shelves where i put all my King books… I didn’t find it! Huuwaaatt?! I lost my Atlantis!
The Dark Tower books are on the top right side… I also found out that my first Dark tower book - The Gunslinger- is also missing.. tsk tsk.. wonder who borrowed it… hmm…
The following are the ones that are missing:
- Hearts in Atlantis
- The Gunslinger
- …
Di ko maalala at first glance, pero parang meron pa eh.. :)
Anyway, I’ll be spamming everyone on my address book, whoever borrowed em, kindly give it back to me.. maraming salamat po.. ;)
Like I said sa previous post, I have 3 days off… And during those days, ako bantay sa computer shop dito sa bahay… (well, kahapon it’s my brother Nel.. need to go sa office for the WIG meeting.. :)
But today, Nel has a date.. and ako na talaga bantay… We’re P500 richer today! hehehe… (NOT ENOUGH! :)
Great thing about my work, is the schedule… I got to have 3 or 4 days off! (depends on the schedule).. Well, this week, I have 3 days off… that’s Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. My second day is over though. [sad]
Some pics taken from yesterday and today…
This one was taken this morning… Kim, my niece, and Matthew sitting in the small plastic chair… I thought they looked cute and so I asked my brother to take a picture..
Next one’s from yesterday. As Yoda would say it, “Early riser, we are, yes.”.. Taken a few minutes before 7am. We’re outside, in front of the house counting trucks and jeepnes and tricycles passing by…
Still from yesterday.. Fresh from the shower… Lunch time.. I’m wearing my TNCSi Sportfest shirt (Formerly NEC Components Philippines, my first employer in Calamba Laguna)… Nakita ko sa baul eh.. I think this was way back 2003…
I don’t know about you guys, probably just me.. but I think I look much better, mas pogi hehehe ng bagong gising.. ;)
You may have noticed some missing posts (?).. pinatanggal.. bati na kmi eh.. ;)
Got this one from one of the Debian sites out there with modification on the SET PASSWORD part.. :) # Connect to the local database server as user root
# You will be prompted for a password.
#
mysql -h localhost -u root -p
#
# Now we see the ‘mysql>’ prompt and we can run
# the following to create a new database for Paul.
#
mysql> create database skypage;
Query OK, 1 row affected (0.00 sec)
#
# Now we create the user paul and give him full
# permissions on the new database
mysql> grant CREATE,INSERT,DELETE,UPDATE,SELECT on skypage.* to ’skypage’@'localhost’;
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)
#
# Next we set a password for this new user
#
mysql> set password for ’skypage’@'localhost’ = password(’skypage’);
Query OK, 0 rows affected (0.00 sec)
#
# Cleanup and ext
mysql> flush privileges;
mysql> exit;
Happy Valentine’s Day to all! Apparently, this would be my February 14 post, completely irrelevant to the occasion! :)
For the past 3 days (or more, I lost count), I have trouble getting out of bed. You may think it’s just laziness, well I am lazy but not in this case… I usually wake up 3:30am (”what?!” you may say, but yeah, sometimes it 3:00am!), enough time to prepare myself to go to work. The problem is, as I’ve said, I can’t get out of bed. I feel so week. My legs and arms are week and aches whenever I try to push myself up.
I have a very strong feeling what that is… You might remember my post about hyperthyroidism. There I mentioned about my potassium problem, well this is it, same symptoms.
Picking up the ‘tabo‘ is a pain, wearing pants hurts, getting off the jeep/bus is a pain! syet!
It’s probably not hyperthyroidism, but there is something definitely wrong with me. Potassium deficiency. According to google — “The normal functioning of our bodies depends on the tight regulation of potassium concentrations both inside and outside of cells” and hypokalemia is the disease.
Scheduled appointed to my Doctor is on the first week of March, but I couldn’t wait that long. I was suppose to take the T3/T4/TSH test prior to the checkup. Sent her an SMS and asked her if I could include the P test. She said sure.
So that’s it, I’ll be seeing her by the end of the month. In the meantime, I’ll just engorgedeverything with potassium. :)
Happy Heart’s Day sa lahat!!! Let’s fill the world with love!! not babies!! :)
